Courtmacsherry to Woodpoint walk
Courtmacsherry
A beautiful walk thorugh the woods along the estuary
The walk out to Woodpoint by Courtmacsherry in West Cork, on the Wild Atlantic Way is a bit of a hidden treasure. Especially at Sunrise, this spot is dreamy with expansive views over the Atlantic towards the Old Head of Kinsale and over Harbour View bay. If you stay by the point for a while, you might get greeted by the local seal who pops up as if curious to see who is visiting. It is an easy walk, but keep kids safe out by the point. Bring sensible shoes/boots. The short walk out to the point is about 20 minutes but is also part of the Seven Heads Walk which is a massive hike along the coast from Courtmacsherry. If you are visiting anywhere around Kinsale, Timoleague, Courtmacsherry or Clonakilty - this is a great little adventure.
What’s to love?
Short walk - Beautiful views - Parking - Woodlands - Sunrise
Top Tip
Bring decent boots/shoes, especially if it's wet. Combine with a visit to the Abbey in Timoleague.
